Our commitment
Digital access for everyone
Urban Chat is committed to digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continually improve the experience and apply WCAG 2.1 Level AA as our conformance target.
Conformance status
We target WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Some third-party embeds and user-generated media may not fully meet AA; we provide alternatives where practical.
Measures taken
What we build for
- Automated HTML accessibility audits and compliance scoring for operators
- Keyboard navigation and visible focus styles
- Screen-reader announcements for key dynamic updates
- Focus management in dialogs and overlays (including profile peek)
- Semantic landmarks and skip-to-main content links
- Form labels and named interactive controls on priority journeys
- Reduced-motion and high-contrast preference support
Known limitations
Where coverage is limited
- Third-party payment or stream embeds may live in iframes with limited control.
- User-uploaded images and stickers may lack descriptive text until authors supply it.
- Capacitor native shells inherit web accessibility; OS-native controls are out of v1 scope.
